What the prices tell you

Our October 2026 check found six online retailers selling the 100 ml bottle, listed in the table above from cheapest to most expensive:

• Overseas: Stylevana at C$15.09 (about C$0.15 per ml) and YesStyle at C$17.12.
• Canadian stores: KBeauty Canada at C$17.56, BSW Beauty at C$21.99, Lakinza at C$22.30 (out of stock when we checked) and Kiokii at C$28.99 (about C$0.29 per ml).

The highest price is 92% above the lowest. However, the cheapest Canadian store is only C$2.47 above Stylevana and 44 cents above YesStyle. The table shows each price with the date we checked it.

Canadian store or overseas shop?

A shelf price isn’t what you pay. Here’s how each kind of store changes the total, using the terms on their sites in early October 2026.

Stylevana and YesStyle ship from Hong Kong. Stylevana offers free shipping on orders over CA$68 and YesStyle on orders over CA$75. A single C$15 bottle is far below both, so you’ll pay shipping at checkout. The bottle is under the CBSA’s $20 exemption for mailed goods, so it shouldn’t attract duties or taxes at the door. Plan for about two weeks.

Canadian stores ship within the country. KBeauty Canada ships from Mississauga with free shipping over C$59. BSW Beauty ships from Toronto (free over C$100 before tax). Lakinza ships from Toronto or Montreal (free over C$79), and Kiokii from Markham (free over C$75). You pay GST/HST at checkout, delivery takes days rather than weeks, and nothing is charged on delivery.

In practice:

• Buying only this essence? The overseas price advantage is about C$2.50, which a single shipping charge can easily cancel out. Compare the checkout totals at Stylevana and KBeauty Canada.
• Building a bigger order? Look at the baskets in our buying guide. Canadian stores came within a few dollars of the overseas shops, and they often clear their free-shipping minimum sooner.

Other places that sell it

When we searched in October 2026, Walmart.ca, Sephora Canada, Amazon.ca and iHerb also listed this essence. Their sites block automated price checks or allow prices only through an API, so they’re not in this month’s Price Index yet. We’ll add their prices once we’ve checked them by hand.

Walmart and Sephora are handy if you’d rather pick it up in person or return it to a store.

How to tell if it’s genuine

COSRX snail essence is one of the most copied K-beauty products. The brand issued a public warning about counterfeits sold through social shops. A few habits help:

• On Amazon.ca, read “Ships from” and “Sold by”. A listing sold by Amazon or by the brand’s own storefront is safer than an unknown third-party seller.
• Be wary of prices well below the cheapest specialist retailer. If someone is selling it for much less than C$15, ask why.
• Check the bottle when it arrives. The genuine essence is clear and stretchy when you pump it. If yours is watery or smells strongly, contact the seller before using it.

Is it worth it?

The essence is 96% snail secretion filtrate. It’s a light, slightly slippery layer that goes on after toner and before moisturizer. People mostly use it for hydration and a smoother feel, and it’s gentle enough for most skin types. It won’t replace a moisturizer, and it isn’t a treatment for acne or dark spots.
